The Diary of a Manager is a fun story about a new manager's first few weeks after joining a dysfunctional company.

The Manager's diary documents his short, but entertaining, few weeks in a company where complexity, dysfunction and blame is rife.

He's brought in last minute to oversee a giant tech deployment, only for it to fail and cause scandal amongst the British tech community (and government). He is blamed - a scapegoat (hence the cover image) - and his diary is the only way to save his reputation.

His neighbours dog is annoying, he eats ancient cakes, manages a communication expert who can't communicate, and fights his way through the myriad of IT systems just to get his job done.

Praised as being hilarious and insightful, this newly revised edition has fewer typos (all remaining are intentional 😄) and is now available as a direct PDF download.

I wrote this book over the course of three days after reading the hilarious "Diary of a Nobody" by George and Weedon Grossmith (one of my all time favourite books).

I thought "maybe a diary of a manager would be a good idea". And so it was born.
